DM52A2 (DM52) – inductively set remote-action fuze
DM52A2 is an electronic fuze with inductive setting of delayed action. It is designed for use with 105 mm and 155 mm projectiles and is suitable for use with all weapon systems, including those with a 52-caliber barrel length.
This fuze is suitable for use with smoke and illuminating munitions, as well as with munitions of the SMArt 155 mmtype. The latest variant of the DM52A2 fuze is the L163A1.
The fuze time is set inductively from 2 to 199.9 seconds (in 0.1-second steps), either during automatic loading or with a fuze setting device.
The fuze setting is stored permanently, but it can be reprogrammed at any time before firing.
The fuze complies with STANAG 4187 and provides a safe distance of 150 m for 105 mm systems and 200 m for 155 mm systems. In addition, the fuze provides a high level of in-flight safety, since its capacitor is charged 2 seconds before the set functioning time.
