Impact Fuze M739/M739A1
Impact Fuze M739/M739A1 is a modern detonating fuze developed for high-explosive fragmentation artillery projectiles. Key characteristics:
- Type: impact fuze with instantaneous action and a delay option.
Adjustable to two modes: instantaneous action (SQ — Super Quick) and delayed action (DELAY). - Used to ensure maximum target engagement both on contact impact and with a delay to penetrate shelters.
Features:
- Instantaneous action functions on contact with the surface, ensuring effective engagement of exposed targets.
- The delay function allows the fuze to function a short time after contact, improving results against fortified or buried targets.
- Its sealed, waterproof design makes it suitable for use in adverse conditions.
- It is armed by the rotation of the projectile after firing, ensuring safe transport and setting.
The M739/M739A1 is widely used with 155 mm projectiles and in modern artillery to achieve high accuracy and effective engagement of various targets.

Fuze Setting
Setting the fuze:
The fuze is screwed into the fuze socket of the projectile and tightened
with the wrench.
To set the fuze:
for impact action, use the wrench
or a flat screwdriver to turn the plunger slot to the “SQ” position. (the position SQ – Super Quick) is
the default position. Check that the fuze indicator
points to SQ);
For impact action with delay: turn the plunger slot
with the wrench or a flat screwdriver to the “DELAY” position
