DM163 Fuze
A fuze from a German manufacturer, a mechanical time fuze with impact action (PD). Used both with air-burst projectiles (smoke, illuminating) and with high-explosive fragmentation munitions.

Fuze Setting
Setting for remote (time) action:
The time is set by turning the central section, graduated from 2 to 150 seconds, until the required numerical index coincides with the mark on the body.
Setting for impact action:
If impact action (fragmentation action) is required (the setting scale is in the initial position).
The fuze will also function on impact if its time to meeting an obstacle is less than the time set on the setting scale. If the timing mechanism is faulty, detonation will be initiated by the striker point driving sharply forward on impact toward the primer
of the detonator and initiating the detonator.
