Projectile M9603A1 BT — 155 mm ERFB HE BT
Projectile M9603A1 BT (Boat Tail) ERFB HE BT is an effective 155 mm high-explosive fragmentation artillery munition created to increase firing range and ensure high effectiveness against targets. It belongs to the ERFB (Extended Range Full Bore) class, which means extended range thanks to the optimized aerodynamic shape of the body.
In the BT version, the tapered rear section (Boat Tail - literally “boat’s tail”) has a conical tail segment that reduces air drag, improving range and stability in flight.

Warning.
There are examples of cases where, with a damaged obturator ring, the projectile was rammed with excessive force. As a result the barrel was completely destroyed. In this case the M203 propellant charge was used
